'Cycling between Terrils’ and 'Cycling through the Heathland’

Did you know that Limburg's newest cycling experience ‘Cycling between Terrils’ is only 15 km away from Lieteberg? And that on your cycling route from Lieteberg you will then also pass by ‘Cycling through the Heathland’? So two birds with one stone!

Via a 380-metre floating pontoon bridge, just above the water level of an old gravel lake, you cycle between the iconic twin ridge and the panoramic ridge on the former mine site of Eisden. A unique 360° experience engrains itself in your memory.

The ‘Cycling through the Heathland’ route, which connects junctions 550 and 551, runs through the 'Mechelse Heide', with 700 hectares one of the largest heath areas in Flanders. Atop the wooden cycle bridge, you have a wide view of the Hoge Kempen National Park. In the distance, horses graze and many animal species have their natural habitat. In August and September the purple flowering heather provides extra splendour. An exceptional experience that you should definitely enjoy!
